‘Jane the Virgin’ proves surprisingly good entertainment
“But I can’t be pregnant! I’m a virgin!” So begins the strangely addicting, surprisingly touching, and all-around entertaining “Jane the Virgin,” a telenovela-like show that follows the journey of 23-year-old Jane Gloriana Villanueva (played by Gina Rodriguez), who is, well, a pregnant virgin.
The State of the Onion is Strong: analysis of Obama’s proposals to Congress
The State of the Union is the most important non-important speech of the year. In it, the President tells the nation that the state of the union is strong, then proceeds to lay out his legislative goals and message for the year while getting multiple applause lines, prompting either partisan or bi-partisan applause.

After rough start, girls varsity basketball defeats Willis 60-39
Things were looking bad for the Lady Tigers at the beginning of their second game of the season against Willis on Dec. 16. However, after trailing behind the opponents for the first quarter, Consol quickly took the lead and held it for the rest of the game, finishing with an easy 60-39 win.
Lady Tigers finish 2014 with 69-48 win over Bryan
On Dec. 19, after the semester’s final day of school, Consol’s girls basketball team faced crosstown rivals Bryan at home. The Lady Tigers jumped out to a lead in the first quarter and held it throughout, winning comfortably, 69-48. Check out a gallery below: [Show as slideshow]
Sophomore English classes visit South Knoll Elementary to share children’s books
Sophomores in English II Pre-AP visited South Knoll Elementary on Friday, December 12th, to read their self-written and illustrated children’s books to the kindergarten and first grade classes. Students spent weeks working on their picture books as part of the final project of the semester and were excited to share them.
