  1. Seven people were killed and another was injured in a shooting at Half Moon Bay, California on Monday, Jan. 23, a day after the Monterey Park attacks.
  2. Consol’s boys basketball team won 46-39 against Magnolia on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The team is set to play against College Station High School on Friday, Jan. 27.
  3. Consol’s boys soccer team won 1-0 against Magnolia West on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
  4. More than a dozen tornadoes struck areas of Texas and Louisiana on Tuesday, Jan. 24, causing power outages and destroying many homes and businesses. 
  5. Michelle Yeoh gained an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her starring role in the film “Everything Everywhere All At Once” on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
