The Endless Inferno Called Summer: Week 12

Hello, hello again.

So much has happened in the past six weeks.

I finally convinced my parents to join Team Buy-A-Car-For-Emily-Even-If-She-Is-A-Bad-Driver.

I got my phone taken away the week after.

I grew a little bit. Horizontally.

And I received the much dreaded AP English III summer reading assignment, which I just finished a little while ago.

School is tomorrow!

Wow.

I honestly can’t believe it’s here. (And I honestly can’t believe I’m trying to write a blog post when I should be mentally preparing myself.)

This summer has passed by so quickly, and not because it was so short (which it was, but that’s not the point here), but because I was occupied nearly every day.

I never got to paint, sadly, but I did do many other cool things! I got to ride a horse after many years. I lived in a college dorm for the first time. I starred as a guest speaker on a podcast. I swam for the first time in years. I invested in a giant balloon.

There’s probably a lot more, but I don’t remember.

After a summer full of chaotic younger-brother parties, I am almost glad the summer is over. Almost.

I know I said that I had nothing to do this summer and that I would be bored and unproductive, but I can very confidently say this summer was the most productive summer of my life, and that I am proud of.

I’ve always dreaded the end of school, but now maybe I can look forward to the next summer break.

So I guess my summer really was a Teen Beach Movie. Just without the beach. And the significant other.

If you’ve made it all the way down here, congrats! You’ve wasted a few minutes of your life reading my posts. The good thing is that you now know how many weeks are in summer break.

Jokes aside, thanks for reading all this time, and I’ll see y’all at school!

Does anyone else feel like school isn’t going to actually start?

P.S. I’m bringing back the countdown. For anyone that’s pessimistic and counting… 1 day until school starts. *cue the eyebags*

P.P.S. To the person who asked, yes. After fighting a long, losing battle, I have finally lost to sunscreen. Ever since I got darker these few months, I have been religiously using the darn thing, and now I have to admit it, sunscreen is a lifesaver. Use sunscreen y’all.
