John Tohkubbi

Head custodian/auxiliary employee of the year

John Tohkubbi is a Consol graduate. He grew up in Houston and moved to College Station in 1987. After serving in the army for two years, he joined the school district as a janitor. He wasn’t sure about it at first, but once he took the job, he realized how happy he felt doing custodial work. Tohkubbi enjoys working during the school year when he can interact with students and teachers and set up for special school events. He has been working as a custodian for 28 years.

Kenneth Oaks

Custodian/auxiliary employee of the year

Though Kenneth Oaks keeps busy as a custodian, he enjoys working around the students and teachers. He is a “people person”; his favorite part of the job is coming and meeting new people every day. He gets along great with the people at Consol. Oaks has been working as a custodian for 24 years.

Cindy Winona

Custodian

Cindy Winona is friendly and loves country music, the outdoors, and cats. She moved from Killeen, Texas to College Station in 2017. In Killeen, she worked a custodial job at a middle school. She likes the students at Consol and finds that cleaning keeps her busy and makes time go by quicker. Winona has been working as a custodian for 16 years, the last two of which have been at Consol.

Becky Macias

Custodian

Becky Macias grew up in Minnesota, where she owned a bakery, and moved to Texas in 2002. She continues to bake in her free time. Macias explored various career options, but liked how, as a custodian, she gets to see students and watch them grow. Macias feels the students and teachers are polite, and her favorite part of the job is smiling at and interacting with the students.

Tammy Muenich

Cafeteria Manager

Tammy Muenich grew up in New Braunfels before moving to College Station for university. She has seven children. Used to taking care of people, she decided to get a job in Consol’s child nutrition department. Among Muenich’s responsibilities are making sure cafeteria food is prepared well and passes a set of health and safety guidelines. What brings Muenich a lot of satisfaction from her job is that she sees students as the future and feels they have a lot to offer.

Katelynn Gentry

Registrar

Katelynn Gentry is a Texas A&M graduate who grew up in Burnet, Texas and moved to College Station for university. She has worked as an assistant director at a private preschool. Gentry planned to be a counselor or teacher, but found registration to be the most enjoyable career path. She loves working with new students and making them feel welcome, comfortable, and excited about their new school. Gentry has been working as a registrar for two years.

Krystal Bridges

Counseling Administrator’s Assistant/paraprofessional of the year

Krystal Bridges is a Consol and Texas A&M graduate and has a two year old child. She likes the outdoors, painting, drawing, running, and gardening. She also likes doing crafts (although she never really finishes them). Her favorite part of the job is when students come into the counseling office confused about something, then have a light-bulb-realization-moment after talking with counseling staff. Bridges has been working as a receptionist for two years.

Kendra Lundy

Attendance clerk/auxiliary employee of the year

Kendra Lundy loves to read, walk her dog, and go camping with her family. She has three daughters. Although her family has moved around frequently, they’ve lived in College Station for the last 20 years. As an attendance clerk, Lundy is responsible for handling absences and excuses, like for UIL activities. She feels that the school district has wonderful people and is a very nice place to be.
