Things to Know for this Week

  1. According to Texas A&M University and The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the A&M student suspected to have the coronavirus has tested negative. A student at Baylor University has also been suspected of the virus and has been asked to isolate themselves to prevent spreading the coronavirus. 
  2. Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, January 26. Many have responded to his death on social media and have wished the best for the NBA player’s friends and family. Seven others died in the crash including John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Ara Zobayan and Sarah and Payton Chester.
  3. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have chosen to balance their time between North America and the United Kingdom in order to put more focus on what is coming up in their lives in the future. Their son, Archie will still be exposed to royal traditions and they will keep collaborating with the rest of the royal family.
  4. Donald Trump has been impeached and the trials to decide if he will be convicted are currently going on.
  5. Billie Eilish won five Grammy Awards including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best New Artist. This makes her the youngest person to be nominated for and win all four general-field categories and the only woman to win all four in the same night.
