It may have been 45 degrees outside, but the Tigers brought the heat to the last home game of the season. Consol took an early lead over Waco University, with senior and running back Aaron Campbell-Love scoring the first touchdown with around 8 minutes left in the first quarter. The Trojans scored a field goal a few minutes later, but the Tigers made sure those would be the only points they gave up that night.
The Tigers closed out the first half leading 35-3. Campbell-Love was the star of the game, scoring three more touchdowns over the next two quarters and widening Consol’s lead to 49-3. In the final quarter, the Trojans made one last bid to score and managed to pushed the Tigers all the back to the goal line. With around a minute left on the clock, Consol’s defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs so that the game ended at a score of 49-3.
The victory came on Senior Night, a Consol tradition that honors the graduating class. At halftime, the Bengal Belles performed a dance with their fathers, and the graduating Tiger Band members, accompanied by their families, marched across the home field for the last time.
