Consol falls to College Station 28-17

by Drew Howerton & Tessa Matthews, senior executive editor and staff reporter

Consol’s varsity football faced off against the College Station Cougars on Friday in what was one of the most anticipated games of the season. The game started out promisingly for the Tigers. A 22-yard touchdown by Aaron Campbell-Love had the Tigers leading 6-0 in the first quarter, followed by a series of interceptions by Nate Floyd and a four-yard run by  Charles Williams that left the Cougars trailing 17-6 at the half.

Halftime featured a first time collaboration between the Tiger and Cougar bands, as well as the presentation of $15,000 to the CSISD Education Foundation from St. Joseph Health Center.

Despite Consol’s eleven point lead, an 84-yard touchdown pass, followed by a 52-yard touchdown toss and a 55-yard punt put the Cougars in the lead and brought the final score to 28-17.

The Tigers will travel to Bryan next week to face off in the Crosstown Showdown.
