1. ‘Pokémon Go’, an augmented reality game for IOS and Android, allows players to catch and train Pokémon using their phone’s camera and GPS coordinates. It was released on July 6th, and became the top ‘Free’ and ‘Grossing’ app on the App Store within 24 hours.

2.A day after the end of Ramadan, the Islamic Community Center in College Station was attacked, with 5 bullets hitting the entrance. No one was inside during the attack.

3. Despite Cristiano Ronaldo being injured, Portugal was able to defeat France 1-0 in the Euro 2016 Soccer tournament Finals. The winning goal was scored during the 109th minute by Éder.

4. The shooter in Dallas, TX who killed 5 police officers was identified as 25 year old Micah Xavier Johnson, who was an Afghanistan veteran. According to Dallas Police Chief David Brown, Johnson “had other plans and thought that what he was doing was righteous.”

5. Hamza bin Laden has threatened the US in a new audio message released by Al-Qaeda. Hamza bin Laden hopes to get revenge for the assassination of his Osama bin Laden in 2011.

6. The US Olympic women’s gymnastics team lineup was selected after two nights of trials. The team is the most decorated in history, and hopes to repeat the success of the previous women’s team, who claimed the team gold medal in 2012.

7. Robertson and Madison County have issued burn bans due to hot, dry weather over the past few weeks.

8. The US has had its first Zika-related death after a woman from Utah passed away. The virus hasn’t spread to the US yet. However, health officials are concerned about people traveling to affected countries.

9. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz announced a 5-15% wage increase for all employees and managers beginning on October 3rd. Starbucks has also announced a price increase on many of its products.

10. North Korea has officially closed their final diplomatic link with the US in response to US sanctions against Kim Jong Un.
