Spanish club members compete, conquer at Pan American Student Forum

by Jennifer Zhan, opinions editor

Last weekend Consol’s Spanish club traveled to San Antonio to take part in PASF, the Pan American Student Forum, an event intended to celebrate Spanish-speaking culture around the world. The theme for this year’s performances and workshops was Brazil.

The organization also hopes to encourage a deeper understanding of the Spanish language by offering achievement tests. The five contests, reading comprehension, grammar, listening comprehension, vocabulary and civilization, are  further divided into categories based on Spanish experience. Out of 51 chapters and over 1200 students, AMCHS took home 13 awards, 5 of which were first place.
