The Roar keeps you updated with local news, recent events and interesting stories ― everything you need to know for this week:

1. The Paris climate just ended with the creation of the Paris Climate Agreement ― a 195-country consensus to prevent the world’s temperature to rising over 2 degrees Celsius, a seemingly harmless, but actually dangerous amount. The agreement has been met with both praise and opposition; although it has brought together many countries, many believe that it is not extreme enough to cause any change.

2. After recent violence both in the U.S. and overseas, Obama’s poll ratings have dropped to their lowest since before the 2014 midterm election, according to Politico. His current approval rating is 43%, and about 70% of Americans “believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.”

3. The final GOP debate for 2015 is set for tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. ET. Nine candidates will be present, and many believe that shots will be fired between candidate Ted Cruz, who is quickly rising in polls, and frontrunner Donald Trump.

4. Speaking of Donald Trump, more controversy has emerged over his recent self-publicized medical report, which states that he only “shows only positive results,” a strange phrasing for a doctor who works in a field where “positive” is usually a bad sign meaning that a patient has tested positive for a certain disease or illness. Also, it ends with a (moderately) sketchy: “If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.”

5. After two weeks of deliberation and arguing, the jurors for Freddie Gray’s case in Baltimore, which deals with the questionable death of Freddie Gray in the custody of police, will soon start deliberating the charges against policeman William G. Porter.

6. The Galaxy S7, the newest installment in the Galaxy phone series, will most likely have a pressure-sensitive display and a high-speed charging port. Also, it may have a retina scanner and a curved screen version.

7. Star Wars VII is coming out this Friday. That is all.

8. Recent findings have discovered that Stanford, the University of Pennsylvania and several other colleges have not been following protocol when it comes to clinical trials and have still been publishing results from these experiments. This leads to skewed data.

9. A new Wall Street Journal – NBC poll shows that Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton would beat Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, but not Republicans Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz. This is due to her increased attractiveness to independent voters versus Trump.

10. Today, French authorities learned that an account given by a Parisian schoolteacher that he was attacked by a member of ISIS was false. Although the teacher was attacked and stabbed in the side and throat, there was no sign that the attacker was connected with ISIS.
