1. A Chinese chemical blast killed 114 people, with over 70 people are still missing. The blast occurred in a temporary warehouse that stored chemicals after they arrived at the port. Some of the chemicals stored in the warehouse include toluene diisocyanate, sodium cyanide and calcium carbide, but by Sunday officials said that toxin levels had dropped to normal and were no longer hazardous.

2. An Indonesian plane lost contact with air traffic control over the eastern province of Papua. More than 50 people are still missing, including two children and three babies. In the plane, postal workers were escorting four bags of cash worth $468,759 as part of an official relief program for local aid.

3. This week marks 50 days since gay marriage was legalized in the U.S. However, some counties are still not issuing marriage licenses.

4. Tens of thousands of protesters in Brazil are calling for the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff.  Voters are accusing her of failing to eliminate corruption in the government, and blame her for the worst economic slump in 25 years.

5. Documents were released revealing that AT&T closely cooperated with the NSA to collect phone records, including those of the United Nations Headquarters.

6. Legendary civil rights activist Julian Bond died at the age of 75 . Bond advocated for human rights worldwide, and was a chairman on the NAACP and was the Southern Poverty Law Center’s first president.

7. The U.S. embassy in Havana opened for the first time in 54 years. The flag was raised by the same three marines that lowered it in 1961.

8. A burn ban was reinstated in College Station as the area reenters drought conditions. In addition, the surrounding counties of Austin, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Montgomery, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker and Waller have also seen burn bans reinstated.

9. Officials say that militants from ISIS are suspected of using chemical arms against Kurdish forces in Iraq. U.S officials believe the militants could have taken the mustard gas from Syria, who previously stated they destroyed their stockpile.

10. American officials warned China over its use of covert Chinese agents in the U.S. These agents are attempting to catch Chinese officials who are fleeing corruption charges.
