A&M Consolidated varsity volleyball wins 3-0 against Magnolia West

On Friday, Sept. 5, Consol’s Varsity Girls volleyball faced Magnolia West at home, winning the match in only three games.

All three sets were tightly contested. Consol won the first game with a consistent lead and a final score of 25-20. Then, despite an early lead by Magnolia and a close race for 25, Consol came back to win the second game 26-24. Finally, the third game put Consol ahead with a score of 25-21 leaving the match with a total score of 3-o Consol.

Senior setter Christi Corkran’s, and senior captain libero Paige Kopetsky’s led the team in assists and digs respectively. Corkran racking in a total of 15 assists, and Kopetsky 20 digs. Other notable stats were senior middle blocker Mattie Dewitt’s 5 blocks and senior outside hitter Carly Hicks’ total of 13 kills.

The varsity team now holds a pre-season record of 20-11 and plan on furthering that gap in their upcoming home match against Tomball next Tuesday.
