by Nicole Farrell, senior editor

A&M Consolidated hosted the International Championship of High School a Cappella Southwest Semifinal on Feb. 28. ICHSA and its collegiate level contest are the biggest a capella tournaments in the world, run by Varsity Vocals. 11 schools completed from both Texas and Colorado.

From Consol, all-girls group Here Comes Treble, consisting of seniors Audrey Harris, Brittany Smith, Hannah Ridgway, Alona Weimer, Liz Bosse, and juniors Azra Razvi and Tara Templin performed, as well as The Pitches, consisting of seniors Dillon Livingston, Steven Alcala, Marit Yosko, Hannah Smith, Kelsey Kipp, Kambrie Kissman and junior Randy Westmoreland.

Each group had exactly 12 minutes to perform. If they went over by even a second, they would be eliminated.

Group favorites included “Wings” by Little Mix, “Pompeii” by Bastille and “Say Something” by A Great Big World featuring Christina Aguilera.
