The Atmosphere: Caffé Capri, an Italian restaurant, is located in downtown Bryan, offering a fun and charming atmosphere. It is the perfect place to escape the bores of regular restaurant and enjoy something a little fancier.

The Service: I was welcomed first by a host who was young, well-dressed and eager to please–the service was promising. The waiter was incredibly friendly and knew the menu very well, offering suggestions on what dish would be best for my preference. My cup of water was never empty, and when my mom and I had devoured the the loaf of bread served with each meal, another warm loaf was on its way out.

The Food: From a vegetarian’s viewpoint, the menu was very accommodating: any of the meat on a plate could be easily removed upon request. I ended up ordering the spinach gnocchi, a potato-filled pasta covered in a creamy alfredo sauce with spinach. The meal came with bread (absolutely delicious), tasty olive oil for dipping and a salad. The salad was a little too green, lacking in the amount of tomatoes, carrots and other colorful, flavorful vegetables usually present in a house salad. However, the vinaigrette and oil dressing added some zest.

It wasn’t too long of a wait until I was served my food, which was presented nicely. The pasta was fantastic, abundant in rich flavor. After the main dish, I ordered the tiramisu. The dessert came out looking almost better than it tasted, with chocolate sauce zigzagging fancily across the place, and the heavy cream perfectly sitting atop the cake. It was a lovely end to a great experience at Caffé Capri.
