Gallery: Physics project requires students to build, launch catapults

by Dana Branham, editor-in-chief

Today in Pre-AP Physics classes, students brought catapults they built to test before their classmates. Students were graded based on their ability to launch a small ping-pong ball onto a target, and they could earn bonus points (or lose points) based on where the ball hit. Each student was given three trials and was allowed to decorate their catapult for extra credit.

Needless to say, tension in the classes were high, and there was always much rejoicing when a student hit the extra credit zone of the target.
