The football team’s starting lineups were too good to contain in two print pages, so The Roar has compiled this web-exclusive Q&A with the players below.
Corey Dukes (5-10 / 180, senior, WR)
What makes you angriest/saddest/most upset during a game?
Just messing up, I guess. Just not doing my right assignments. I just don’t want to run it, and then run it wrong. I just don’t like to mess up.
What team are you most excited/nervous to play?
I’d probably say Bryan. They’re already talking about, oh, they’re going to beat us, they’re going to break our streak. It’s also on Kyle Field, so that’s what I’m talking about. I’m excited; I don’t get nervous.
Daniel Zivney (5-11 / 185, junior, WR/K)
Who is your biggest inspiration on the team?
Clint because he always has energy, and I’m jealous of that. It can be the worst practice ever, but if you look over at him, he’s always trying his best. He plays like everyone’s always watching him. It’s easy to take a rip off when a coach isn’t looking, but Clint Hollis is always working his butt off.
Derrick Dick (5-8 / 165, junior, WR/RB)
Who is your biggest inspiration of the other players on the team?
I really look up to Josh Stewart. He graduated last year, but I still look up to him now. It sucks that he had to leave, because I miss playing next to him. He still gives me talks before the game and calls me before games.
Sherman Wilder (6-0 / 190, senior, DB)
Who inspires you most out of the people on the team?
I look up to The Sherm [my alter ego]. I look up to Reggie [Davis]–leggo my Reggo. He has a very good work ethic.
Reggie Davis (5-9 / 165, senior, DB)
What’s the craziest thought you’ve ever had during a football game?
‘Oh snap, we scored.’ When we were playing against Copperas Cove, I was just like, wow.
