by Olivia Conway & Sam de Figueiredo, online editor & opinions editor

On Friday, Consol’s varsity volleyball team battled the Oakridge War Eagles. The game got off to a slow start with the score jumping between the teams with every point. Junior Riley Daniel and sophomore Sutton Springer both played well with excellent offense and hitting respectively. Although the girls fought hard until the very end, unfortunately they had their first loss of the season to Oakridge. Oakridge won the first three sets with 25 points to Consol’s 14. Consol’s next game is on September 12 against College Station High School.
