Student and faculty musicians perform at Consolapalooza

Consolapalooza, Consol’s annual student music festival, was held on April  29 starting with a performance by teacher band Astrochimp, comprised of economics teacher Jason Pratt, audio video teacher Jay Robinson and CSHS audio video teacher Stephen Green. Astrochimp played covers of Rage Against the Machine, and also performed an original song, a mashup of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes and “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” by Eurythmics. Junior Jared Williams performed a solo version of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” as a way to showcase his  acapella vocal range. Freshman Sara Shankar played mashups that she produced of popular songs, as well as two singles. Seniors Eric Harris and Nour Hilal performed a duet of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide”, followed by a closing performance of Thiccc Britches, a punk band made up of sophomores Sophomores Willie Allen, Patrick Quinn, Reece Cargill and junior Kaiden Williams.
