1. Chuck Berry, legendary guitarist that helped define rock ‘n’ roll, died at age 90. 

2. The Duke Blue Devils are out of the N.C.A.A. tournament after an 88-81 loss to South Carolina.

3. Derek Walcott died at 87. His poetry captured the beauty of the Caribbean and the harsh legacy of colonialism.

4. President Trump’s aides tried to soothe angry leaders in Britain after suggesting their spies wiretapped the Trump Tower.

5. A federal judge in Hawaii has ruled against President Trump’s revised travel ban. 

6. President Trump’s first budget includes reductions of $5.8 billion, or 18 percent, from the National Institutes of Health, which fund thousands of researchers working on cancer and other diseases, and $900 million, or a little less than 20 percent, from the Department of Energy’s Office of Science, which funds the national laboratories, considered among the crown jewels of basic research in the world, in addition to a multitude of other cuts.

7. The Philippines will not legalize same-sex marriage anytime soon, President Rodrigo Duterte has said, reversing a campaign promise in which he pledged to support legislation to allow gay unions.

8. Tom Brady’s missing jersey from Super Bowl LI has been found in Mexico, apparently in the possession of a newspaper editor who had a media credential for the event. It took an investigation by the F.B.I. and the police in Houston, where the game was played, as well as Mexican authorities and the league to find the coveted jersey.

9. Between April 2015 and April 2016, beekeepers in the United States lost 44 percent of their colonies and in the UK, beekeepers reported losses of almost 17 percent, according to the British Beekeepers Association. Beekeepers and farmers are trying to fins a way to increase the numbers and stop the decline.

10. A freak accident at a popular waterfall in Ghana has killed at least 18 people. A huge tree appears to have fallen amid a brutal storm trapping swimmers at the base of Kintampo waterfalls in the country’s Brong Ahafo region.
