1. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the new Year’s Eve terrorist attack in Istanbul, Turkey. The attack killed at least 39 people.

2. The UN passed a resolution demanding that Israelis stop settling on Palestinian land. The vote passed 14-0, with the US abstaining.

3. President-elect Donald Trump’s press secretary, Sean Spicer, announced the President-elect’s plans to repeal many of Obama’s policies.

4. Power outages across the Brazos Valley have affected over 300 people. According to the BTU, these outages were caused by recent thunderstorms.

5. Texas A&M wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones has declared he will enter the NFL Draft. Seals-Jones is bypassing his senior season.

6. Brazos Valley Police Officer Stephen Magnes is the second officer in the past 10 days to have a serious injury or even death prevented through the use of a bullet proof vest. Magnes was shot while exiting his patrol car, and was let out of the hospital within a few hours of treatment.

7. A Canadian airline pilot was found unconscious in the cockpit of his Cancun bound plane. The pilot was escorted off the plane before takeoff, and had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.

8. The College Station ‘Lil and Elite Wranglers’ have been selected to perform at the inauguration of President Trump. The team competed with thousands of applicants from around the country.

9. Carrie Fisher, actor for ‘Princess Leia’, has died. Fisher was also an avid mental health advocate, author and humorist.

10. China’s much anticipated elevated bus project has seemingly come to a halt. The bus debuted approximately 4 months ago, and was designed to decrease traffic. Ironically, the out of service demo model is now causing traffic due to it standing idle.
