1. On Monday, an Ohio State University student drove his car on a sidewalk into pedestrians, then began stabbing others with a butcher-knife. The attack, which lasted just under two minutes, injured 11 people. The suspect was shot and killed when he failed to comply with campus police.  

2. A plane crashed on the outskirts of Medellín, Colombia last Monday. The aircraft was transporting 77 passengers, which included a complete Brazilian soccer team on its way to compete in an international competition. There were only 6 survivors.

3. South Korea president Park Geun-hye announced Tuesday that she would be willing to resign before an impeachment. Geun-hye’s corruption scandal has shaken the Asian country. In recent days, thousands have gathered in the streets of Seoul to protest her presidency.

4. Last Wednesday OPEC reached a deal on production cuts. The reduction of 1.2 million barrels per day caused oil prices to surge.

5. Streaming service Netflix announced on Wednesday that subscribers would be able to download videos for offline viewing.

6. A fire broke out in Oakland, California at a warehouse party on Friday night. At least 9 were killed and 25 remain unaccounted for. Authorities worked to remove debris from the scene over the weekend in an effort to recover any remaining bodies.

7. Last Friday marked the release of the Hamilton Mixtape, a 23-song album that draws its source material from the hit Broadway musical. 37 artists collaborated on the hip-hop inspired interpretations of the musical’s songs. The album debuted at No. 1 on Amazon and iTunes.

8. The SAT was administered on Saturday morning at Consol. Test scores will be available on December 22.

9. On Sunday the Army Corps of Engineers announced that they would deny the permit for the Dakota Access Pipeline and begin searching for alternative routes. The news was celebrated at the main protest camp, where many activists have been living for several months.

10. This week president-elect Donald Trump has continued to release nominations for his cabinet. Although some of the nominees have had their fitness for their position questioned, the Trump transition team has continued to move forward with the transition.Trump said he has been communicating with international leaders in preparation for his assumption of office in January.
