Students, faculty enjoy various musical acts at Consolapalooza

Consolapalooza, Consol’s annual music festival, kicked off at 7:00, Friday, April 22, with a performance by senior Brenna Briles and her family band. Among Briles’s song selections were crowd favorites “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac and “American Pie” by Don McLean.

The performances were put on by a joint effort by Tiger Theater and the Student Council.

Next, freshman Aubrey Hay played, followed by junior Janisah Sarpada, who performed “Riptide,”by Vance Joy. The duo Haley and Aranza performed next. Economics teacher Jason Pratt, who also helps coordinate Consolapalooza every year, and his band Astrochimp, which also includes Audio/Video Production teacher Jay Robinson, performed tributes to various deceased artists, including Stone Temple Pilots and David Bowie.

Senior Tara De Leon sang and played guitar to two original songs. Seniors Marley Hays and Ester Araujo, also known as Dunder Mifflin took it down a notch with several chill song selections. Next, junior Timothy Garcia performed, followed by popular rap duo Stereotype. Finally, All Day Breakfast ended the official performances of the night.
