Senior Libby Davis shot somebody today, then thanked her. Davis spends her afternoons and weekends with her Canon T3 Rebel and one or two models, working tirelessly to provide new content for her photography account. Davis plans to use her photography skills to restart a photography club at Consol, sponsored by AVP teacher Jay Robinson.

“I want people who have an artist inside them to be able to have a way to let out that artistic-ness,” Davis said. “I hope people who aren’t able to take something like Media Tech or any kind of art class to learn how to do something really cool.”

Davis, who is in her third year of Media Tech, is also an award-winning filmmaker.

“You can let your creativity out through many things, like writing, film, photography or animation,” Davis said. “But a lot of people overlook photography, and I hope I can shed some light into the photography world and show how cool and creative it can be.”

Davis runs a popular Instagram account, @unintentionallyinsane, and has over one thousand followers.

“I’ve practiced photography a lot,” Davis said. “I do it for fun and in my free time.”

Davis hopes to bring new life to photography club, which stopped meeting her freshman year.

“We’re thinking of getting models and doing shoots,” Davis said. “Then we discuss what is good and what is not, and how they can improve.”

But overall, Davis wants people to help others find a passion in photography and build a positive community.

“I want people to create not just photos but art pieces,” Davis said. “Something they can print and take home.”

The first meeting of photography club will be Thursday, September 24, in room 1323 from 3:50-4:30.
