The Roar spoke to freshman Krysta Kenney about her favorite parts of being in choir and asked her about the choir’s preparation for their upcoming musical, Fiddler on the Roof.

How long have you been in choir?

This is my first year, and it’s been really cool.

What’s your favorite part of choir?

Being able to do the musical and meeting new people. It’s a good time.

What have you learned so far from being in choir?

I didn’t know how to read music before, and now I can!

Why did you decide to join choir?

I’ve always loved singing. I’m a shower singer and sing in my room–just really everywhere. Getting to sing everyday–the experience is really fun.

How have rehearsals been for the musical?

They’ve been really long, but the performance is definitely going to be very good. My favorite song in Fiddler is “Sunrise, Sunset.” Everyone in it has a really good part, and it’s going to be a really great production!

Fiddler on The Roof, a musical put on by the choir, will be performed Feb. 6-9 at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available for sale from choir members at $7 a ticket for students and $10 a ticket for adults.
