A recent addition to locally owned restaurants in College Station, Napa Flats Wood-Fired Kitchen is located on the corner of Texas Ave. and Harvey Rd. Their wooden decor gives it a comforting, yet upscale atmosphere, perfect for a date night or night out with friends.

Appetizer: Upon entering the restaurant, one is then seated by a friendly hostess and given a menu from which to select his or her order. Their menu is diverse, ranging from wood-fired pizzas to steaks, allowing for everyone to find something they would enjoy. Starting with the Mediterranean Plate, tzatziki, tabbouleh, tapenade and the hummus of the day are served with warm flatbread and fresh veggie “chips.” Refreshing and not-too-filling, it’s a perfect appetizer.

Entree: Made up of tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil, the Margarita pizza is simple, yet absolutely delicious.

Dessert: Following the entree,  one can’t leave without sampling one of their specialty desserts. Their Mint-Chocolate-Chip Gelato, creamy with thin dark chocolate shavings is delightful–one scoop is the perfect amount. The only downfall is the price–although not pricey for the experience and quality, probably not somewhere one would visit on the regular. Altogether, the experience is very pleasant and worth visiting.
