Interact’s Pencil Project is an annual project that focuses on sending pencils to poorer schools; this year’s school will be one in New Jersey.

“These pencils will be going to kindergartners through eight graders in Camden, New Jersey,” senior and co-president Alona Weimer said. “They’re known for having one of the highest poverty rates as a county.”

Students brought pencils to their advocate classes last week to contribute to the effort. This year, almost 2000  pencils were collected.
